She studied in K C M seniour optional school jhojhu,kalan,haryana.She moved on from MDU,Rohtak,haryana.
2013 ASIAN WRESTLING CHAMPIONSHIP
In the competition in New Delhi, India, Vinesh won the bronze medal in the ladies’ free-form 51 kg class, winning 3:0 in the bronze award session through the repechage round to Tho-Kaew Sriprapa of Thailand.
In the first round, Vinesh won 3:1 against Nanami Irie of Japan. She at that point lost 1:3 in the quarter-finals to Tatyana Amanzhol of Kazakhstan who met all requirements for the last accordingly qualifying the Indian wrestling for the repechage round.
2013 Commonwealth Wrestling Championships
In a select competition held in Johannesburg, South Africa, Vinesh completed second and won the silver medal in the ladies’ free-form 51 kg class, losing in the last round to Odunayo Adekuoroye of Nigeria.
2014 Commonwealth Games
Vinesh played for India in the ladies’ free-form 48 kg class at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, and won the gold award.
In the quarter-finals, Vinesh confronted Rosemary Nweke of Nigeria and beat her 5-0. Her semi-finals adversary was Jasmine Mian of Canada whom she beat 4-1. In the gold award session, she confronted home most loved Yana Rattigan of England and won the gold medal, beating her 3-1.
2014 Asian Games
At the Games in Incheon, South Korea, Vinesh won the bronze award in the ladies’ free-form 48 kg class.
In the Round of 16, Vinesh confronted Yongmi Pak from the People’s Republic of Korea and beat her 3:1. Her quarter-finals adversary was Dauletbike Yakhshimuratova of Uzbekistan whom she defeated effortlessly with a 5:0 scoreline. She lost 1:3 in the semi-finals to Eri Tosaka of Japan however met all requirements for the bronze medal session and beat Narangerel Eredenesukh of Mongolia to win 10-0 effortlessly after refree ceased the session (arrangement focuses 4:0).
2015 Asian Championships
At the 2015 Asian Championships in Doha, Phogat won the silver medal in her class in the wake of losing the last to Yuki Irie of Japan. In the qualifying competition for the 2016 Rio Olympics held in Istanbul, she won in the last round beating Polish wrestler Iwona Matkowska, and met all requirements for the Olympics all the while.

At the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio, Vinesh achieved the Quarter Finals and lost to Sun Yanan of China attributable to knee damage.
2018 Gold Coast CommonWealth Games
Vinesh Phogat won the gold medal in ladies’ 50kg free-form wrestling at 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast.
2018 Asian Games
Vinesh Phogat won the gold medal at the 2018 Asian Games and turned out to be first Indian lady wrestler to win gold in the Asian Games. Phogat beat Japan’s Yuki Irie in Women’s 50 kg Freestyle Wrestling gold medal coordinate.
