Manohar Parrikar was an Indian government official and pioneer of Bharatiya Janata Party who was the Chief Minister of Goa from 14 March 2017 till his passing. Already he was also Chief Minister of Goa from 2000 to 2005 and from 2012 to 2014.
DATE OF BIRTH
Manohar Parrikar was born on 3 December, 1955 in Mapusa, Goa.
His wife name is Medha who died in 2001. They have two children – Utpal, who is an Electrical Engineering move on from Michigan State University and Abhijat, who is a local businessman.
He learned at Loyola High School, Margao. He finished his secondary education in Marathi and proceeded to graduate in metallurgical designing from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IIT Bombay) in 1978. Manohar Parrikar was also the first IIT former student to fill in as MLA of an Indian state. He was granted the Distinguished Alumnus Award by the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay in 2001.
As of March– June 2018, Parrikar was experiencing treatment for a pancreatic affliction at a medical clinic in the US. He came back to India and in September was admitted in the AIIMS, Delhi for treatment. On 27 October 2018, the Goa government declared that CM Manohar Parrikar has pancreatic cancer.
He passed away on 17 March 2019 at 63 years old years, because of advanced pancreatic cancer at his house in Panaji. His passing was declared by the leader of India, Ram Nath Kovind.
