Manjit Singh Biography
Manjit Singh otherwise called Manjit Singh Chahal is an Indian sprinter who represents India in the 800 meters and 1500 meters occasions. He spoke to India at the 2018 Asian Games and won the gold in the 800 meters occasion at Jakarta.
DATE OF BIRTH
Manjit was born on 1 September 1989 in Ujhana town, Jind area, Haryana.
FATHER- Randhir Chahal
He developed his passion for games from his dad just, Randhir himself’s identity a field competitor, in discuss throw and shot put. Manjit is married and have a child, name Abhir with spouse Kiran. In his extra time he use to help his dad in dairy, steers and agribusiness cultivating. He had a multi year contract work with ONGC from 2013 to 2016.
Manjit is giving full credit to his coach “Amreesh Kumar” who helped him Manjit’s day-night to enhance his all of running system.
FIRST INTERNATIONAL EVENT
In 2013 Manjit participated in his first international running, in the 2013 Asian Athletics Championships, at Pune. There he finished fourth place in the Men’s 800 meters last timing 1:49.70 mins.
In 2014, he packed away a silver in the 800 meters in Federation Cup.Yet neglected to meet all requirements for the Commonwealth Games and Asian Games.
National Inter-state Championship
After long injury for one and half year, he participated in the National Inter-state Championship at Hyderabad winning silver.Then at Guntur and bettered his 800 m time, timing 1:48.04 mins and winning silver on july 16, 2017. In a similar occasion, on 18 july, he contended in the 1500 m. And completed with a planning 3:49.30 which was his own best around then.
2018 Asian Games
On March 7 2018, in the Patiala Federation Cup, he particpated in both 800 m and 1500 m.There he bettered his timings of 1500 m to 3:42.24.And qualified for 1500 m in the 2018 Asian Games. On 27 August 2018, Manjit Singh, shocks everybody.And countryman Jinson Johnson to win gold in the Men’s 800 meters at the Asian Games following 36 years for India where he timed 1:46.15 as his own best.
